A private, multi-strategy family-office. Public markets on one side, brick and mortar on the other--kept to ourselves.
Seclude runs across three arms — Capital in public securities, Estates in real estate, and Ventures in early-stage innovation. More than $5M in assets under management, spread deliberately across strategies to keep our clients’ portfolios uncorrelated and compounding.
Our public-markets arm: a long/short value book concentrated in equities — owning mispriced businesses and shorting the overpriced. When it sharpens the edge, we hedge through prediction-market contracts, public bonds, and derivatives.
The real-estate arm. We source, underwrite, develop, and hold residential property end to end — turning land and tired stock into rental homes that throw off steady, real-world cash flow.
Our newest arm. Curated angel investing that gives clients early exposure to innovation — backing founders and private companies long before the public market ever meets them.
Across public equities and real estate, Seclude has delivered 25%+ annualized returns over the past five years — through a crash, a recovery, and everything in between. The public equity fund has quadrupled in size in three years, funded by results rather than fanfare.
It started with curiosity — at twelve, quietly putting his earnings from TV and film work in Hollywood into the market. The curiosity didn't stay small. It grew into a full, almost insatiable passion for how value is really built, priced, and kept.
When the COVID crash tore through portfolios in 2020, Shay leaned in — concentrating into value positions that went on to beat the market by multiples. That same year he founded Seclude Capital. Friends and family who'd watched from the sidelines took notice, and one by one began trusting him with their capital.
In the years since, he's run deals end to end — sourcing, underwriting, and closing multiple residential rentals and sales; sitting in on the legal, the equity research, and everything in between. It's hands-on, unglamorous work, and it's exactly where the experience — and the trust of the people he does business with — has come from.
Today Shay is an underclassman at Michigan Ross, and the first to admit he has a great deal left to learn. But the record is real and so is the credibility behind it. He runs Seclude Capital with equal parts conviction and gratitude for those who gave him an early chance — and the humility of someone who knows the best chapters are still ahead.
